Fall in love with your job

Getting a new job is exciting, especially when it’s the job you worked so hard for to get. Remember your first day? Everything felt new and challenging. Unfortunately, for many of us the excitement dies down and your job becomes a chore. As a specialist recruitment agency, we want to help you fall back in love with your job.

Take a break

You may not realise it but maybe all you need is a break. Work and the people you work with can be overwhelming, especially when you spend most of your time with them. Sometimes, all you need is a little break away from reality to realise that you actually enjoy your job. Whether its unpaid holiday or annual leave, taking 2 weeks or more off can help you clear your mind, get rid of the stress and give you new a perspective on the things you do.

What’s missing?

Think about what it is that may be making you dislike your job. Maybe you used to do something which has now stopped, maybe your workload is too light or too heavy? Whatever you may think it is, it’s up to you to change it. Speak to someone about it, maybe you’re not alone, if you don't take action, don’t expect change.

Eyes on the prize

We all hate some parts of our job but don’t forget why you’ve fallen in love with it in the first place. Yes, there are meetings and a neverending list of emails, but these are just necessary tools. Keep your eyes on the prize, the things which get you excited - starting a project and seeing it become something big!

Sometimes, we just forget why we love some things and it’s normal. Here at Citirecruit, we want you to love your career, so if you really feel like there is no love left, get in touch with one of our recruitment specialist to discuss your next career step.
