Career Resolutions

We’re about to leave 2018 and take on a new year with new resolutions. If you’re looking for some inspiration and ways in which you can improve your career in 2019, we’ve listed some New Year’s resolutions that you can stick by this upcoming year to keep you goal-orientated.

Stay Organised

A clear inbox is a clear mind. Don’t leave things to pile up over time, as long as you stay organised and tick things off as they arrive, you’ll feel like you’re more on top of your projects. For 2019, make it a priority to get organised physically and digitally. Clear your desk space, put a filing system in place and organise your desktop. Make lists and tick tasks off as you go along.

Learn A New Skill

If you’ve been thinking of a career change for some time, or you want to progress in your career but need to expand your knowledge in a particular area, this year why not jump back into education and learn a new skill. Take an evening or online class in something new and learn something that is going to help you take the next step up in your career. A good choice might be to learn a new language as this is something recruiters are looking for more and more.

Take Breaks

You might be wondering how taking a break is going to help you step up in your career? Well, having breaks can actually improve productivity and clear your head so you feel more prepared to take on the next challenge. If you work in an office, it can be a good idea to take regular breaks away from your desk and your screen, get some fresh air or take 5 minutes to walk around your building. You’ll come back feeling refreshed and less lethargic.
